By decreasing the amount of hours per day that you wear a bra, you also decrease your chances of developing breast cancer. Lymphatic fluid is allowed to bathe the cells through movement. Movement keeps the breasts happy and functioning optimally. Wearing a bra weakens the connective tissue, causing the breast to create less natural support of its own. I am not advocating that you “burn your bras,” but the less hours you wear a bra, the better! Also, exercise is imperative to getting the lymph flowing! The following information gathered from a study in 1995 is impressive!
Hours in a Bra Per Day*/Chance of Breast Cancer*
- 24 hours : 75.00% (3 out of 4)
- >12 hours (but not while sleeping) : 14.28% (1 out of 7)
- <12 hours : 00.66% (1 out of 152)
- 0 hours (or rarely) : 00.60% (1 out of 168)*Singer and Grismaijer, 1995
